Dr Kristina Huggins
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kristina Huggins is a Junior Associate at Mid-Atlantic Children’s Services, Inc., and Mid-Atlantic Psychological Services. She is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Virginia and a Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland. Her experience throughout her doctoral training, internship, and postdoctoral residency includes psychotherapy and psychological assessments. She has significant experience working with children and families involved with child protective services, juvenile probation, and family court. She is also trained in providing forensically informed therapy and evaluations, particularly in the areas of family and child welfare.

As a Junior Associate, Dr. Huggins provides services to clients of all ages and demographics. Her approach to interventions includes examining the individual and cultural factors that contribute to the client’s psychological well-being. She is trained to treat an array of mental health symptoms and diagnoses.

Dr. Huggins accepts appointments at our Virginia locations.

Education: Geneva College, Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2011). Doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus (2017).

Internship and Post-Doctoral Training: APPIC Accredited internship and postdoctoral residency through the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium at Buwalda Psychological Services. Here, Dr. Huggins performed clinical and forensic evaluations for court-ordered and self-referred clients. She also provided individual, couples, and family therapy for individuals involved in the Department of Child safety, Family Court, and self-referred clients.

Membership: American Psychological Association Member, American Psychology-Law Society Member

Services Provided: Therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults including individual therapy, couple’s counseling, and family therapy. Comprehensive evaluations including, but not limited to, psychoeducation, clinical, parental capacity, and psychosexual evaluations.
