Dr. LaKeyetta Reed

Dr. LaKeyetta Reed provides therapy at Mid-Atlantic Children’s Services, Inc. and Mid-Atlantic Psychological Services. She enjoys providing therapeutic services for all ages. Dr. Reed accepts virtual appointments and in-person appointments at the Virginia office.

EDUCATION:  University of Maryland, College Park, B.S. in Psychology (2005); American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, M.A. in Clinical Psychology (2008); American School of Professional Psychology, Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology (2014)

INTERNSHIP AND POST-DOCTORAL TRAINING:  Dr. Reed completed her predoctoral internship at the APA accredited site Guidestone Ohio, which included conducting individual therapy, group therapy, and assessment services for children and adolescents ages 3-18. Her postdoctoral experience includes providing therapy and assessment services for clients in school and private practice settings.

CREDENTIALS:  Registered as a Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland; Registered as a Psychology Resident in the state of Virginia; Registered Psychology Associate in Washington D.C.

BACKGROUND:  In addition to clinical work, Dr. Reed is an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University where she teaches Infancy and Toddlerhood Development, Child and Adolescent Development, Childhood Disorders, Ethics for Helping Professions, and Family and Domestic Violence courses as needed. She enjoys participating in psychoeducational opportunities in the community to help others gain insight about social-emotional wellness, issues among special populations, and disparities in diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Reed’s volunteer work includes serving as the Vice Chair on the board of directors of Healing Empowering and Restoring (HEAR, Inc.) a non-profit organization based in Maryland. She also served as the Chair on the board of directors of Sow S.E.E.D.S., Inc. a non-profit organization based in New Jersey and served as a member of the Governance and Academic Committees on the board of directors at Sela Public Charter School located in the District of Columbia.

EXPERTISE:  Dr. Reed has extensive experience with providing therapeutic support for clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Reed also provides therapeutic support for the LGBTQIA+ community. She has extensive experience with completing psychoeducational and comprehensive psychological assessments for all ages.
